when I worked as a server and it was slow I would create these miniature drawings on the thermal receipt paper. By accident we figured out that if you touched the paper with hand sanitizer it would cause the paper to produce gray tones. To create these pieces I would first smear hand sanitizer to lay down the grays and then come back with a pen to add details! very fun.
